Cybersecurity is becoming more important aspect of IP-connected cameras and a core customer concern, so Axis designs ARTPEC SoCs with current and future threats in mind. Main security features include:
Thanks to “on-the-edge” analytics, already introduced in ARTPEC-8, analytics applications can be embedded directly into the device and analyze video without sending data to a central server. Data are analyzed, anonymized and encrypted on the device at the edge before transferring to the data center – minimizing the risks of losing sensitive data.
ARTPEC-9 improves video analytics and allows applications to detect objects earlier and identify smaller details than before. That enables cameras to trigger events and actions quicker, enhancing security, safety, and operational efficiency.
Already introduced “on-the-edge” analytics, which allows cameras to analyze data on the camera itself, makes it possible to develop analytics that can automatically detect objects and distinguish between different kinds of objects, such as people and types of vehicles. The new SoC promises to triple video analytics performance and boosts graphics speed by 2x.
This SoC brings support of AV1, the next generation open video codec designed for streaming media. Thanks to that video management solutions providers can also add support for AV1 and, combined with ARTPEC-9’s enhanced image processing, deliver high-quality video with the best-in-class bitrate.
